Bangladesh Krishi Bank has its own regular recovery program to recover its investment /stack-up loan from the borrowers. The normal regular recovery program includes issuing of Demand, Special, Legal notices and routine personal contact etc. Besides these, the bank official takes special measures in different occasions to recover its dues from the defaulting borrowers. These occasions are namely  'SHUVO-HALKHATA',  'MODHUMELA', 'NABANNA', etc. In these special occasions bank's field officials as well as officials from Head Office, Divisional offices and Regional/Regional Audit (District Level) Offices visits branches & field levels. They come into close contact with the borrower inspiring them to repay the defaulting amount and encourages them to avail  new credit facilities . We used to decorate our branches with colorful festive look.  On the eve of these occasions both the bank officials and the borrowers get the opportunity to exchange their views. We also invite the officials of local administration and local elites on these occasions with a view to maintain a good & smooth relation with them.

Some of these special occasions are mentioned below :

'SHUVO-HALKHATA' : It is a traditional Bengali word, which means colorful ceremony for opening of books of account for the Bengali New Year ( on the first day of first Bengali month 'Baishakh'). On the occasion, we take the advantage to invite our borrowers/customers in right earnest, entertain them with traditional sweetmeats ( Rosogolla, Jilapi, Batasa, Muri, Murki , etc) with the purpose for disbursement of new loans and recovery of stack-up loans on ceremonial spirits. This year this program will be observed from 2nd April to 27th April, 2008.

'MODHUMELA' : 'Modhumela', which is a Bengali term generally observed at the advent of 'Jaistha' (Bengali Month) when glut of native summer fruits flood every huts and houses in the rural areas. We take the opportunity to come in close contact with our valued customers/borrowers, formally invite them in our branches, entertain them warmly with fruits, share and care them in distress and happiness for smooth repayment and credit distribution.

'NABANNA' : It is an age old Bengali festival generally observed in the rural areas during the month of 'Kartik & Agrahyon' (Bengali Months) when new crop (Paddy/Rice) is harvested. People rejoice with the arrival of new paddy in their houses and prepare various 'Pitha' (Home made cake) and sweet-foods for the family and dear ones. We avail ourselves of this happy occasion to call on our borrowers/customers from door to door, invite them in the branch office and create favorable environment for recovery of overdue loans and distribution of new loans.
